Active After Schools Community Program The AASCP in a schools based program designed and controlled by the Australian Sports Commission.
The AASCP will pay $120 for a 60 minute session usually conducted between 2:00 pm and 4:30 pm weekdays during the school term. From that $120 the Instructor gets $80 and the archery club that supplies the equipment receives $40. The limit for the amount of children per session is 18.
However, if you have your own archery equipment, including portable butts, and can work 5 days a week then you can expect to gross around $600 a week for 5 hours of instruction. Archery Victoria can assist Instructors and clubs with the supply of come'n'try butts, ground quivers, bow racks, bows and arrows.
Archery Victoria and the AASCP are looking for people that have time available to conduct these sessions. Preferably you will have an understanding of Archery although this is not a prerequisite. Of more importance is your ability to relate to children and have the time to commit to the project. You will be required to go through the ASC teaching modules and undergo a "Working With Children" check. Again, AV have people that can help you through these documents. To invoice the school, the club (or the individual running a business) will require an ABN (Australian Business Number). If you need assistance in acquiring one of these please contact the AV CEO. If this is of interest to you, or anyone you may know, then please feel free to contact the AV CEO.
