In September 2011, McLaughlin Sports Consultancy (MSC) –
www.mclaughlinsports.com.au was commissioned to undertake
an independent review of the Archery Australia National Coach
Development Framework.
The purpose of the Review is to
assist Archery Australia, and its Coach Development partners
throughout Australia, to develop a world leading National
Coach Development Framework and implement innovative delivery
models to best support the development of coaches at all
levels throughout Australia.
As a key Archery
Australia Coach Development stakeholder
(i.e. Club Officer, Coach, Participant
/ Athlete, Parent of Archer), we encourage you to add
value to the Review process by completing the short e-survey
relevant to your current role/s. The survey will take you
approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and the
information you provide will greatly assist MSC to develop
relevant Review recommendations and to ensure that Archery
Australia’s coach development system (and therefore athlete
development system) works towards achieving its potential into
the future.

General Meeting
The date of the AV AGM has been moved
to Saturday the 10th of September 2011. The location of the AV AGM has
been changed to Sherbrooke Archers and time has been moved forward to
around 2.00 pm (based on what time lunch for the Silver Cup finishes).
The AGM shall be immediately followed by a Council Meeting. Agendas and
audited financial results should be sent to the clubs in the last week
of August.

Boobs*Bits Competition
Due to severe flooding in February, the rising water table on the target
range along with the constant rain, Sherbrooke Archers has regrettably had to
cancel the Boobs*Bits competition.

UnMarked Field Gauging Training
Session
Leigh Cornish is going to conduct another Unmarked Field gauging session
this Saturday at Diamond Valley Archers.
AV has asked me to run the
same “Unmarked Field Gauging” seminar as I ran at Sherbrooke a few weeks
ago.
The seminar will include most
of the normal methods used to estimate a target distance. It will
also include a simple method used to gauge the distance to within 2
metres. This requires the remembering of three numbers and respective
increments, easy. This is also FITA legal as the days of FITA
trying to control this are gone. We will also practice the method on the
shooting range, so bring your equipment.
Following the seminar and a bit of practice you will be able to shoot
higher scores on the unmarked than the marked.

Membership Fees
At the Council meeting on the 21st of May 2010 the
Council agreed to the new fee structure. Effective the 1st of July 2010
the new structure is:
Adult (18 and over)

Youth (17 and under) $20
The
current Archery Victoria Family Discount Structure is retained.
The
Council also agreed to remove the Club Affiliation Fee.

are being sent to the clubs today along with the updated membership

On the 1st of July 2010 some clubs will be
creating invoices for the 10/11 membership period. With AA and AV being
on anniversary pricing since July 2009 the opportunity for clubs to
reconcile to this arrangement now exists.

Indoor Field Event
An exciting new event is coming to Arrows Plus. The
Arrows Plus Indoor Safari has been designed as a brand new event
combining both Indoor and Field activities. FITA Field targets and IFFA
Animal Targets at unmarked distances. A bit of greenery to make it
really interesting and some great competition. This is a never before
shot event and one not to miss.
Saturday, 10th April 2010 is for
the traditional archers. Categories are Traditional (Modern Longbows),
Historical (ELBs, horsebows), Recurve (trad hunting recurves) – woods
only. Details on attached Flyer.
On Sunday, 11th April 2010, it
is the turn of the compound, recurve and barebow shooters. Details on
